This concept is deeper than you think. For me, when you try to resist things, it is putting the faith in yourself that you can resist this temptation. But when you avoid, you are putting your faith in
God, trusting that He knows that you should not go down this path. It might be hard for you to understand, and it might be wrong, but this is what 'Avoid, Don't Resist' means to me.
